Gremlins are ever present in the background ready to step into any computer system. After lurking in the background for nearly 10  years, one has stepped into the page with email addresses.  It had been set up with the addresses as "hyperlinks"--just click the red and they would open up in your email program.  They went haywire so, unfortunately, you now have to copy the email address and paste it into your email or address book. 

A shortcut: Highlight the address, press CTR-C to copy it.  Go to your email or address book and paste it  by pressing CTR-V
