2002 RESTAURANT

Miracle Mile, Near Winn Dixie, Vero Beach

If you like shrimp, oysters, scallops, crabs and good sea food in general, you just have to try the 2002 Restaurant in Vero Beach.  Since the son has taken over for his father the menu has become much more extensive.  Plus the deserts are all home made.  Good service and the price is right.  Try it—you won’t be disappointed. C’FOOD SHACK

Jensen Beach, At Foot Of Jensen Beach Bridge

If you are out for a drive and enjoy spicy Bahamian food we urge you to try 'C-Food Shack’. It is located at the foot of the new Jensen Beach Bridge. Take a left and look for the island shops on your right.  Creative lunch menu. Cathy had the oyster Po-Boy with lettuce tomatoes and island dressing.  I had the soft shell crab sandwich with roasted garlic aioli dressing accompanied with Bahamian conch chowder. Prices are within reason so give it a try. R&C Law

CUBAN CUISINE RESTAURANT

Luria’s Plaza, US1 Vero Beach

One morning last week, Cathy & I were wondering what to have for lunch.   Being tired of the old mundane sandwich we decided to try something different.  This idea led us Luria’s Plaza in Vero where we stopped at the Cuban Cuisine Restaurant.  Our choice from their extensive menu was the Cuban Sandwich.  It consists of roast pork, cheese, ham and pickles served on hot Cuban bread.  The platter arrived with the sandwich and enough French fries to feed 3 people.  The cost was $5.95.  So if you want something different and tasty give it a try. You may like it!  R&C Law

5:00 to 6;00 PM.  Our early bird for two with a glass of wine came to $35.10.  We had the Salmon, grilled, served with a creamy dill sauce.  This is the best meal we have had all season!  What a pleasant surprise!  It’s a small restaurant but very nicely “done” in décor.  Prices after early bird are from $12.50 to $15.50.  Moderate to Expensive.

Lunch & Dinner, Sunday Brunch
Moderate.  Early Bird until
7:30. Early-Early Bird up to 5:30. ($1 off Early Bird)  $18 to $22 will cover two early birds, tip extra.
Good early bird selection of entrees.  Dinner includes soup, salad (great house dressing), wine & dessert.  Very ample cocktails for those inclined.  Lunches reputed to be a good bargain.  The main room can be noisy so recommend the side rooms.  On a good night you can eat outside.  The building (inside) itself deserves some kudos all by itself.

4:00 to 9:00  the FRESHEST FISH you can imagine.

New Englanders try the haddock, schrod, clams

In a storefront the prices are from about $15.00 to $20.00 for two.  Two of us had schrod, and it literally fell apart when  the fork touched it.  No fishy or oily taste.  An order of clams with bellies was almost more than the diner could eat.  TRY IT.
